Farnborough 2012 : ‘Farnborough Airshow’ is one of the most iconic names in the airshow world and the most recognisable events held in the UK.It is the major shop window for UK Aerospace and associated industry and it brings in visitors from around the world for the ‘Trade Week’ held between Monday to Thursday. From the Friday onwards the show goes through a major changes becoming much more of a family airshow containing more current military and civilian display acts as well as a few select items from the trade show. 2012 was another excellent year and here are a few of the images I took on the trade day that I attended on.

Luchtmachtdagen Leeuwarden,The Netherlands : September saw me heading off to The Netherlands for their annual air show .Each year it is held at a different base all over the country, and this year it was being held at Leeuwarden AFB in the Friesland region. It had been a while since my last visit to Holland and also Leeuwarden being in 1996. It was a good show and the weather was kind to us.

Oakland Aviation Museum , California : Located at Oakland International Airport is the recently renamed "Oakland Aviation Museum" which is open Wed-Sun from 10.00-16.00 . An excellent museum with some unusual exhibits...one being the Short Solent one of only 3 left in the world and this example was used in the filming of "Indianna jones and the Temple of Doom"

Barbers Point Aviation Museum Hawaii : Located at the Old Barbers Point Naval Air Station is the excellent recently renamed "Naval Air Museum Barbers Point". Currently the the museum is open by appointment only but it is well worth a look as you are allowed to look outside and inside all the aircraft and helicopters on display. USS HORNET, Alameda California : The USS HORNET is a Essex-Class Aircraft carrier which is located at pier 3 Alameda Point California.The Hornet was used to recover the Apollo 11 space capsule and its atronauts who had just recently walked on the moon!! An excellent and infromative museum and well worth a visit.

West Tofts..Zulu Alpha 681& Zulu Alpha 714 : A ride into the STANTA battle area found the following choppers .The exercise had been on for a few days and was nearing completion, on the deck was a Chinook HC.2 ZA681 and a SeakingHC.4+ ZG821/G. I spoke with the crew of ZA681 they were from 7 Sqn and they kindly invited me inside to have a look around. They guys had been making daily runs from their home base to the battle area. The crews were then getting ready to leave when ZA714/AV also turned up which was a bonus, rotor's running ...guys loaded up and then off home for a few days off. I just wanted to say a big thanks to they guys of ZA681 and safe travels.

Italy "Giornata Azzurra 2008' : May 2008 and it was time for me and 3 friends to head off on a trip to Italy and I can honestly say what a fantastic time we had .Italy has many stored aircraft displayed all over so a chance was also taken to grab a few wrecks along the way with us ending up at Giornata Azzurra 2008 which was being held at Pratica di Mare airbase. With press passes in tow it was a fantastic few days away. The Air show had a good static display with the real stars of he show being two United Arab Air Force Mirage 2000’s

Trips 2006 Sweden : June saw me heading off to Sweden for the Air Show which was being held at the F7 wing Satenas airbase . I also visited the AEROSEUM - the internationally unique exhibition destination.The exhibits are held inside a declassified Swedish Air Force bunker carved out of solid rock located only 15 minutes from the centre of Göteborg (Gothenburg) this is an interesting meseum and well worth a visit if you are in the area.

I have been an aviation enthusiast since 1984 and have travelled to many different locations all over the world over the past 27 years in pursuit of my hobby.

I am a member of many different aviation societies and on my site you will find a selection of pictures taken by myself over the years.

I have had several photographs that have been published in different magazines over the years and include AirForces monthly and Air International.

I try to attend as many different air shows as possible each yearin various locations across the world.
